| The day of this early morning flight from San Francisco to Houston started out normal, but it turned out that I was fortunate enough to participate in a very special moment of a pilot's career. |

| When I boarded this Continental Airlines flight from San Francisco, I thought it was just an ordinary flight. However, as I settle into my seat 1A, I noticed an unusual print-out commemorating the First Officer's retirement. |

| The Flight Operations department took the time to create this special flyer for First Officer Ernie Storms' final flight as an airline pilot. |

| As we took off in the early hours, the San Francisco bay area is just waking up. |

| As we get close to Houston Intercontinental Airport, the sky welcomes us with very nice weather. |

| The entire flight crew along with Mr. Ernie Storms, the retiring First Officer. First Officer Storms' family was also on board celebrating this occasion with him: His lovely wife Jackie, daughter Kristyn, son-in-law Lucas, grandson Noah, son Jarrod, daughter-in-law Nicki, granddaughter Taylor, and step grandson Jeremy. |

| I stayed behind after all the passengers got off the plane, and got a chance to talk to First Office Storms. Thus I was the last revenue airline passenger in Mr. Storms' long career. We spent a few minutes chatting about aviation, and joked that our path might have previously crossed when I was a mechanic's assisant at San Francisco bay area's Alameda Naval Air Station, where I overhauled A6 Intruders that First Officer Storms flown for the Navy. Soon it was time to say farewell, and I made sure that I keep one of the signed commerative flyer as a keepsake. |
